Ridgecrest RallyCross The car situation among Gravel Crew members Scott G and Marvin Ronguillo is a comedy in the making. Scott’s ‘02WRX is still in surgery as Marvin’s ‘02WRX is back in the playing field and once again doing double duty between the two teammates. Ridgecrest was extremely hot as it was hitting the 100° degree mark with ease, so the only thing the Gravel Crew could do was to just turn up the competition. On top of that, this was the biggest showing of the Gravel Crew team to date with a new member added as well. We welcomed Marty Silvola with his ‘02WRX to the team with Gravel Crew members Chris “Oppie” Tusow captured second in the Street Stock AWD class while debuting his Mitsubishi gen3 Eclipse and Mike Jones finessed a first in group2/5 OPEN while getting his under construction widebody Honda Civic back on track. Sean Mahaney with his Scooby 2.5RS was out to throw some dirt around in the new and larger track location in Ridgecrest. Bristol Keele finished fifth in the very tough CRS GT class in her Scooby L with a very impressive twelfth overall of the fifty-three cars that finished. Rodney Wills was on hand to do the media chore as the Ford Escort ZX2 is recovering from the extensive surgery. Overall winner for the weekend was Scott G showing once again that you do not need super-suspension and tons of boost to win, much less your own car. Marvin Ronguillo placed fourth overall and leaving a lot of people wondering just what these two are up to with this one very stock ‘02WRX.
